Membership information

The Bingley Belles Cycling Club collect information in the course of members joining the association. The accuracy of the data is dependent on the information supplied by the member when joining or renewing membership. The information collected includes the following:

  • Name
  • Email address

This information will enable the club to be able to contact you directly, with membership information.  We may at times contact you directly concerning developments within the club and sharing news about important events.  This will be done in the main by the Chair or the Secretary of the Bingley Belles Cycling Club.

Your information is kept electronically via a password-protected Gmail account. Access to this account is restricted to members of the elected committee. This information will be kept in this format as long as you are a member of the club.  We will remove any details of members when membership ends.

Bingley Belles website

This information will also be used to register you with a user account on the Bingley Belles website. A login will be created and sent to you via email. It will then be your responsibility to set a password and log in. This will give you access to a member’s area, including useful information, documents, an online shop and a forum. The website is monitored and moderated by committee members. Your contact details are not visible to other members. Your details will be removed when your membership ends. Members can edit and update their own profile information on the website. See Appendix A for the Forum privacy notice below.  

WhatsApp

Members can also choose to provide their telephone number for the purpose of joining a WhatsApp group called ‘Share your rides’. Consent will be sorted before anyone is added.   We will remove any details of members when membership ends.

Correcting information

If at any point you believe the information we possess on you is incorrect, you can request to see this information and even have it corrected or deleted.  If you wish to raise a complaint about how we have handled your personal data, you can contact the Bingley Belles Cycling Club committee and we will investigate the matter.

Sharing information

The club does not disclose private data to third parties.

Payments are processed securely by third-party payment providers. We do not store payment card details.


Mailing lists

If you sign up for updates or newsletters, your email address will be stored and managed through Brevo, an email marketing platform. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in our emails.


Website usage data

We collect limited technical data about how visitors use the site, including:

  • IP address
  • browser type
  • pages visited
  • date and time of visits

This information is collected using Jetpack analytics and is used to understand website usage and improve the site.


3. How we use personal data

We use personal information to:

We do not sell personal data.
