A group of thirteen women, most wearing cycling gear and helmets, pose together outdoors with bikes visible in the background. Some are sitting on a bench while others stand behind them, all smiling. The setting is a scenic countryside with green hills, trees, and a cloudy sky.

June 26 June 28

Based on feedback we received from last year’s trip, we plan again to cycle to one place, stay for two nights with day trip options on the Saturday and then cycle back to Bingley on a different route. The weekend will involve cycling on:

  • Friday 26th June from Bingley to Earby via West Morton, Silsden, Skipton, Broughton and Elslack.  Please note on this ride there is a very short but steep section (30 meters)  where bikes will need to be walked down. We will all be able to help one another.
  • Saturday 27th June – options of 2 and 3 cake day rides around the Borough of Pendle.
  • Sunday 28th June –  from Earby to Bingley via Barnoldswick, West Marton, Gargrave, Skipton and Kildwick

The cycle routes to and from Earby will be between 30 – 35 miles. There will be options on Saturday for you to choose between nearer the time.

Accommodation will be in an independent hostel at Earby: Earby Hostel – A friendly hostel on the Pennine Way close to the Yorkshire Dales

There are four dormitories with bunk beds and therefore some people will be required to sleep in a top bunk. Though we will endeavour to meet everyone’s sleeping arrangement needs this cannot be guaranteed. If you are interested in booking a place, please make your sleeping needs known to us. Bedding is provided.

The hostel has kitchen facilities and we will self-cater for both breakfasts and one of the evening meals. We can consider eating out in the village one evening, but we can discuss all of that nearer the time.

What you’ll need is a bike in good working order, panniers or backpack to carry your own kit (including clothes, basic tools and e-bike battery/chargers if applicable). The routes will be mainly on quiet roads with some stretches of bridleway and towpath. The pace will be chatty and we will stop along the way for refreshments / lunch.

The cost will be £65, which will cover the accommodation, two breakfasts and one evening meal. You will need to purchase and provide your own lunches and one evening meal. There are subsidised places available for anyone on a low income. Please ask in your reply. Places booked are on a NONE refundable basis unless a replacement person can be found.

We expect people to help out with self catering, washing up and cleaning etc. We also expect people to attend a meeting prior to the trip, which is where we will share important information and details about the weekend.

Please note, this trip is for competent 3 cake riders who are self-sufficient. Please ask if you’re not sure this is for you. If working, you will need to take Friday off work as the trip starts in the morning of 26th June 2026

This trip is currently full.
