Bingley Belles cycling group welcomes many new members each year, many looking for a group to support their return to cycling after a gap of many years for a variety of reasons. We offer regular rides at a variety of levels but also 2 or 3 trips a year which turn into much more than bike riding adventures.
In June one such trip found an intrepid group riding from Bingley to Earby Hostel (yes we know its in Lancashire!), for a 2 night stay, exploring the local area and then riding back to Bingley on Sunday.
One member of the group is not always able to join our day rides but has attended several of our trips. Here is her feedback about the Earby weekend and what being a Bingley Belle means to her.
“Just want to say a massive shout out to all of you beautiful Belles, not only on this last weekend but every ride, trip and outing I’ve shared with you.
This weekend was simply the best. It starts long before the event begins by giving me something to look forward to. I love cycling and being outdoors, I feel free, so, thanks to all the time, effort and super organisational skills I can just switch off and literally ‘enjoy the ride’. Sooooo appreciated!
My favourite moment? All of it, even the torrential downpour on Saturday evening. I love the adventure, the places we visit, the cafe stops, the wonderful company, the spectacular scenery on the superb rides… and yes, even the hills. I’m in awe of all of you, but the ladies on non electric, my hat goes off to you, what superstars you are.
I really enjoy being part of this amazing group, the laughs, hearing your stories, the funnier the better, and sharing your adventures and experiences and giving me some great ideas and advice. Not forgetting the outstanding photography to mark the occasion.
Sarah, thanks for starting all of this and continuing to sprinkle your magic (hardwork) to make it a happy, memorable experience. We even had a waterfall, yes a waterfall at the end of the garden. What a remarkable team you’ve created and I’m honoured to be a part of it. Thanks”
